At Lateral the Frontend Engineer is a key member of the team. He has a passion for and a detailed understanding of how interactive experiences should look, feel and function on the web and mobile devices.
He is also connected to the development community and actively participates. As part of our team, he will have the opportunity to work with world-class talent on unique interactive projects, including mobile apps & responsive websites.
Responsibilities
* Deliver best-in-class front-end code across web and mobile projects.
* Understand outstanding design, execution and interactions
* Implement designs and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices
* Ability to work in a volatile environment, and constantly collaborate with the design team to
improve and take the projects to the next level
* Be open-minded & proactive, don’t settle for what is required
* Work with client services, sales, and the design team, and manage time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
* Participate in discussions with clients and team members about technical best practices and help teams identify optimal technical solutions.
Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Technologies
* +2 years of experience in an interactive agency setting
* Excellent written and oral English skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
* Solid time estimation ability
* Strong ability to prioritize work
* Angular JS / JavaScript / Ajax / jQuery / Modernizr / Dojo / MooTools / Prototype CSS Grids / CSS Frameworks / Resets
* Progressive Enhancement / Graceful Degradation
* HTML and CSS Specifications (W3C..)
* Website Speed / Performance
* Debugging Tools (Firebug, etc)
* Responsive Web Design
* Cross-Browser Bugs and Inconsistencies (primarily IE8+)
* CSS Pre-Processors (LESS / SASS)
* Version Control (Git / GitHub / CVS / Subversion)
* Internationalization / Localization
* Offline Web Apps
* Basic .htaccess
* Image Editing Tools (Photoshop, Fireworks, etc.)
* Web Font Embedding
* SEO Basics
