Titlu Job: Linux System Administrator (all skill levels, Cluj-Napoca)

Ideal Candidate: As a 1st/2nd/3rd Line Linux System Administrator you will be joining our technical team performing Linux system administration and providing technical support to Layershift's diverse group of customers worldwide. You will be troubleshooting issues with Linux web hosting technologies and resolving problems independently and as part of a team. We have multiple positions suitable for all levels of skills and experience. This position is based in the ultra modern The Office Business Centre in central Cluj-Napoca on Bd. 21 Decembrie 1989. Required skills: ◘ Experience in working with Linux servers (any distributions) ◘ Ability to diagnose and fix problems with Linux servers ◘ A high degree of initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work as a team player ◘ Ability to communicate clearly with our customers and other team members Note: We are interested in ALL levels of experience in Linux to join our growing team. Considered as an advantage: ◘ A bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT / computing field ◘ Experience providing customer service or support ◘ Knowledge of configuring or tuning any of these or similar on Linux: web, mail, DNS, database, cache, firewalls, proxy servers, monitoring systems, clustered filesystems, backup software, systems automation, building RPM/dpkg packages, networking, kernel updates, tweaking kernel parameters, etc. ◘ A basic understanding of working with a public or private cloud (Jelastic, AWS, Google App Engine, Azure, Digital Ocean, Joyent, Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, CloudBees, Rackspace Cloud, etc.) ◘ Knowledge of any virtualisation or related technologies (OpenVZ, Virtuozzo, VMware, Xen, KVM, Docker, libvirt, OpenStack, etc.) ◘ Programming experience in any Linux scripting language for solving problems more efficiently (e.g. perl, C, python, bash, awk or any language which will help you) Job description: Your responsibilities: ◘ To perform Linux system administration ◘ To provide English language technical support to customers via a helpdesk system ◘ To help optimise and reliably grow our infrastructure ◘ To debug and solve a wide variety of Linux technical issues ◘ To handle alerts from our internal monitoring systems You will be working primarily with our Managed Hosting services including our innovative Jelastic PaaS (http://www.layershift.com/hosting/jelastic-paas), traditional Cloud VPS (www.layershift.com/hosting/cloud-vps) and upcoming Cloud Storage and Object Storage services.
