Titlu Job: Value Management Engineer

To support value engineering activities on electronic and mechanical components used in slip control products from initial concept through design validation to production implementation. To manage and report on product change packages, against financial targets and project milestones to the value management organisation. To be a major contributor to the team, facilitating change through undertaking detailed technical and cost analysis. Principal Accountabilities: • To facilitate the creation of product and process cost reduction ideas on electronic and mechanical assemblies. • To facilitate and be a major contributor to the feasibility analysis (technical, risk, product cost/ benefit) of the cost reduction ideas. • To facilitate the creation of change packages and the validation programmes necessary to implement the change package. • To manage and report on product change packages to achieve financial targets and project milestones. • To ensure that suppliers and manufacturing partners achieve the required design to meet functionality, cost and quality objectives. • To ensure all designs produced are fully capable for the chosen manufacturing and assembly processes. • To ensure robust designs are produced on time and are fully validated in accordance with the product and Customer requirements. Personal Characteristics: • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline. • Minimum of 5 years experience as an Mechanical or Electronic design engineer within the Automotive Industry or similar high volume safety critical environment. • Demonstrate a good knowledge of project management tools and techniques. • Demonstrate a good knowledge cost analysis tools and techniques • Have a practical understanding of design for 6-Sigma processes. • Thorough knowledge of one of more of the following : • Experience in techniques and design constraints involved in Analogue electronics, Interfacing to microprocessors, PCB assembly, • Experience in materials and design constraints involved in sheet metal forming, plastic injection moulding, and light alloy die-casting. • Experience of connector technology and environmental sealing techniques. • Experienced of risk reduction techniques such as D.F.M.E.A., P.F.M.E.A and FTA. • Good interpersonal skills and commercial awareness • Current driving licence and ability to travel within Europe and potentially the USA and Far East
